How to actually cut your organisation’s emissions.
Knowing what you need to do is the easy part. Doing it with the limited data, team and budgets you have inside a real organisation is the hard part.

Four kinds of issue
Each week, an issue will cover one of these topics.
How to actually cut emissions
Knowing where to invest in action vs data quality. Making a reporting deadline with a third of the numbers missing. Getting a board to fund abatement rather than another consultant. The parts nobody writes down.
People who have done it
Heads of sustainability, ESG leads, sustainability managers, and the finance and procurement: people who ended up contributing to decarbonisation. What worked, what did not, and what they would not bother with a second time.
What disclosures actually say
I am building a product that lets you understand how a company is really performing on decarbonisation. Getting there means reading corporate climate reports line by line, and what turns up is often not reaching other newsletters.
What changed, and what to do about it
News, deadlines, standards, consultations. What it actually means for you, rather than a summary you could have found yourself.
Free and paid, and which is which

Every issue, every week
A complete piece of writing you can act on. Not a teaser. If you never pay a penny, this should still be worth the ten minutes.

Even more value
Most weeks the issue carries on past where the free part stops. The working detail, the templates, the numbers, the bits I would only tell a client. Some issues go out in full to everyone though, when they matter enough.
Who writes it
I’m Felix Edge-Partington, an independent climate consultant. I have built greenhouse gas inventories, set net zero targets and written transition plans. Along the way I have learnt many lessons, which I want to share with you to accelerate your company’s climate transition.
I am also building ThermoStat, which takes what companies really disclose about their emissions and creates a comparable score aligned to real world impacts. This often turns up things that wouldn’t otherwise be noticed.
The newsletter is the working notes: who I am speaking to, what I am finding, what is going wrong, and what I would do differently.
